2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Volkswagen Atlas
Now that the all-new Kia Telluride has arrived at the Serra Kia Trussville showroom, the automaker is ready to compete at a new level inside of one of the most competitive segments in the automotive industry. A comparison between the 2020 Kia Telluride vs. 2019 Volkswagen Atlas will very clearly illustrate just how advanced the all-new Kia platform is, especially in comparison with its VW competitor. There may be a few commonalities between the two crossover SUVs, but the 2020 Telluride offers more performance across its entire trim ladder than what is available with the Atlas while also keeping pace in terms of fuel economy scores. Buyers can learn more about the 2020 Kia Telluride today by calling 855-273-7230 and making an appointment with a Serra Kia Trussville product expert.
To be sure, today’s crossover SUVs must be as technologically advanced as possible in order to even be competitive in the minds of potential buyers. Both the 2020 Kia Telluride and 2019 VW Atlas offer infotainment systems that will work with most applications found on the Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ suites. Kia has added a few new high-tech features that should move it in front of the Atlas. Some of these standard technology features will crossover between the two vehicles, like smartphone compatibility with the Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ suites. However, Kia has taken much of its latest technology and made it available on the 2020 Telluride. Some of these new features include a color heads-up display, Rear Occupant Alert and Driver Talk. None of these come with the VW Atlas.

Under the hood of the newest Kia crossover SUV is a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter, V-6 engine attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It will produce 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel-drive is standard, but all-wheel-drive can be added to any trim grade. Entry-level versions of the 2019 Volkswagen Atlas will use a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Models with this equipment will make 235 horsepower. A V-6 engine is also available which tops out at 276 horsepower. While all versions of the 2020 Telluride can tow up to 5,000 pounds, Atlas owners will have to make a few additional purchases to match this capability.
